For the past five years or so Perspectives has been living on the edge of non-existence. Every year at our board meeting someone would ask the question: Should we just be done?
We’re not the only magazine to ask the question. The last few years have seen dramatic changes in journalism with well-known magazines calling it quits.
Finally, at one particular meeting, we decided we weren’t going to ask that question anymore; we decided to go all in. We decided that Perspectives offered a unique voice within the Christian community—a Reformed engagement of cultural, social, and political issues—so we quit asking the question, created the blog, the online journal, and put together some creative print issues.
This week we’re asking you to help Perspectives become an important venue for Christian dialogue. We want the journal to live up to its name; we want to represent a variety of thoughtful perspectives on the issues facing the church. We want the journal to be a dialogue, a place where Christians can respectfully disagree, a place where important ideas can be expressed and challenged. This is what we’re working toward.
Honestly, we’re not there yet, but with your help we’ll get there. So please support Perspectives Journal. Click the easy button and give what you can. We can’t do it without you.
